Hello,

* Go to start > control panel > Display properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop... > Web tab
Select everything you find in there (except for "My current home page") and press the delete button on the right.
Hit ok below > apply in previous window.

Then,

Check and fix next entry in HijackThis:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9C181464-9330-4321-996B-8D63ECDF8FBD} - C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone\meqot.dll

Reboot your computer.
After reboot, look if next file is still present and delete it:

C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone\meqot.dll

Don't worry if you can't find it anymore.

If popups are still present, look if next file exists:

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\core.sys

(since this one comes in most cases with the malware you are dealing with+active desktop Hijack and is responsible for cpvfeed popups)

If it is present, you have to delete it from Windows Safe mode, since you won't be able to delete it in Windows normal mode.

°To get into the Windows Safe Mode, restart your computer and, just before Windows starts to load, tap the F8 key a few times.
Choose Safe Mode from the menu that will appear and press Enter.

After you deleted it, go to start > run and copy and paste next command in the field:

sc delete core Hit enter.

Let me know if above instructions solved your problems.

Thanks for the help. I made the above changes and I will reply if I experience any further trouble. No pop-ups so far, but I'll be on the next couple hours to watch it.

Good to hear popups have stopped.

Now look if next file still exists and delete it:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\core.cache.dsk

Let me know if popups stayed away. They should though..
