A couple of weeks ago I lost everything right after I installed SP2. I had to perform a non-destructive system recovery (now THERE's an oxymoron!) and start from scratch. Fortunately I was able to install my hard drive into another computer and recover everything I needed. Now, two weeks later I am experiencing all of these niggly little problems which have started to drive me batty.

Here's the problem(s)

Every time I start the computer the screen resolution automatically changes itself. It changes from what I've got it set to which is True color 800x600 to High color 640x480...every single time I boot up.

Also, even though Auto-Complete is enabled and the prompt box comes up to remember passwords etc. Windows NEVER remembers them anymore. I run a couple of businesses on 2 separate domains and have to check 6 different email boxes throughout the day.
I now have to type in every email address and password EVERY single time I need to check email. It also no longer remembers user names and passwords on frequently visited sites that I access 5 or more times a day! A little box used to drop down after the first 2 keystrokes that I could click on and that is long gone.
I have checked and rechecked all settings everywhere and am totally confounded.

Can anyone tell me what may have caused this or how I can fix it?

Thanks so much for your time. I appreciate it. This is a real problem.
