Hello there,
My pointer does not respond very well as I navigate using my touch pad. There are two distinct ways in which it acts funny

1) When I try to move to from one side of the screen to the other, it sticks for anywhere between a slight skip or hesitation, to a full second or two where it freezes.

2) When I hold my finger in one particular place on the touch pad, the pointer jitters around about a 1 square inch area by itself.

I can overcome both of these issues by tilting my laptop up or down about 30 degrees and holding it in a fixed position.

It is very obvious that this works. It works perfectly every time and the pointer becomes totally responsive when moving and completely motionless when I hold my finger still, just as it should.

I would sure appreciate any help in diagnosing the problem and assessing the risks that this might lead to if unfixed.

Thanks so Much
Brandon

If a simple movement fixes the problem - then I'd suspect that it was a hardware problem with the touchpad. I'd suggest not using it (in case a break is imminent) and use a USB mouse instead.

I use a trackball with my laptop, and my wife uses a wireless USB mouse on here laptops (home and office). Been doing it for months now without any issues.

Yeah, I had bought a tiny retractable mouse for my daughters three year old hands. I tried it and viola, no more jitters. Every once in a while the pointer now disappears and reappears in the bottom left corner, but only in a blue moon.
thanks
