Please try version 1.98.2

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/hijackthis1982.php

You will need to unzip hijackthis.exe to a permanent folder, such as c:\hjt . This has to be done as HijackThis creates backups when you fix items. These backups could easily get deleted in a temporary folder.

First create a new folder:
A. Click My Computer icon on your desktop
B. Click C: drive
C. Click the File menu --> New --> Folder, a folder "New folder" will be created.
D. Rename it HJT

Unzip hijackthis.exe to the c:\HJT folder.
Everyday is virus day. Do you know where your recovery CDs are ?
Did you create them yet ?

Thanks. 1.98 worked just fine. but I get errors on 1.99 and the program shuts down. I already had HJT in a directory by itself. I wonder why 1.99 does not work. I am thinking a adware file is stopping it from working. Thanks again.
