Its the computer not the speakers. I reformatted my drive, reinstalled all the updates about a week ago. Now it seems that any sound that should be coming from the speakers in the computer. I hooked the speakers up this morning thinking that would solve it but no luck. So far it does it when opening a new window in some browsers, when sending messages on aim, and when I get a message that my computer is done burning something.
Its just a nuisance that I'd like to get to stop. Any ideas?

Just one beep. Not long. Guess something is wrong with the motherboard.
