hey, i ran NAV and it found 21 at-risk files, which i presume to be connected with Adware.Iefeats, it was able to delete 13 of the files, 9 of which it couldn't.. which are:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3la.exe
C:\WINDOWS\iepn.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ipcz.exe
C:\WINDOWS\javapj32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\javavw32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sysdy32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\syshn32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\syshn32.exe

(the last two are not mistakes, it listed that file twice, however the first one was a compressed version)

when i open up internet explorer, this is my homepage:
res://xlmpk.dll/index.html#26980

since i have had Iefeats, it has been xlmpk.dll so i dont think this one has morphed yet.

i have used search to search my whole computer, hidden files and everything for this .dll file but it won't turn up.

btw, i dont use Spybot S&D and i am on Windows XP Home Edition. please help me to get rid of this bleeping problem.

well i fixed it by myself and after only "half-doing" it a couple of times and having it morph on me that many times i figured it out.. but when i rebooted, i got an error that it cannot locate file C:\WINDOWS\crxr.exe. however that file was associated with Iefeats. im wondering if this error will pop up every time, and if so, how will i get rid of it. any help appreciated, thanks.

hi ::SHArP::

Lets try this method

Please download this tool called about:buster from

http://tools.zerosrealm.com/AboutBuster.zip or
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/AboutBuster.zip

Unzip it to your desktop.

Now start Hijack this and tick the boxes next to these items..

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {427AC2D9-095B-B8F2-E344-79D48DC72DAA} - C:\WINDOWS\javaza32.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sdkqm.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdkqm.exe

Now close ALL windows and hit fix checked.
Do not open internet explorer to come back here until after running my tool.

Start about:buster and hit start. In the first white box input this - starting with
res://xlmpk.dll/index.html#26980

Now hit ok.
Save the report in a text file somewhere.

Then startup Hijack this and tick the box next to the random 02 (dll)

Restart your computer and post the report and a new Hijack this log.

sorry, but could you clarify this part a bit?:

Start about:buster and hit start. In the first white box input this - starting with
res://xlmpk.dll/index.html#26980

so do i just put "res://xlmpk.dll/index.html#26980" in there or does the - have anything to do with it

you put this line into the box without the quotes

"res://xlmpk.dll/index.html#26980"

you should be able to type it in there if you need too
i would suggest printing the directions

heres the new log and the about:buster log, however when i opened IE to get here i got an ad window which i suspect is Iefeats downloading more files because it wasnt your regular pop up. and the line with sdkig.dll concerns me, i think it got left out:

some times it does take a few tries good your ahve your homepage back
good thinking on trying it again

now i would like to get you protected

Also try spyware guard and spyware blaster
spyware blaster will block spyware from comming in when you surf the net(compatible with IE, mozilla and firefox) and spyware guard is a resident scanner.

Lobos
<span style='color:blue'>Ad-Aware SE</span> | Spybot S&D 1.4

For extra protection try spyware blaster

<span style='color:blue'>If you use IE I suggest using these two programs</span> MVPHosts & IE-SPYAD
