My Norton-AntiVirus protection (2007) randomly turned off and now it won't turn back on.
Every time I try to fix it or turn it on it brings me to LiveUpdate.
Then eventually a small window pops up, which says:

LU1823: Another running instance of LiveUpdate was detected, but it is not visible. This can occur when LiveUpdate is running silently, is running in a different user session, or if you have recently canceled LiveUpdate. Only one instance of LiveUpdate can run at a time. Please try running LiveUpdate again later.

I'm not a computer genius, but I'm pretty sure my computer is infected.
If someone could please help it'd be great.

Thanks in advance. =]

Have you other security programs that you have attempted to run?
Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Post a Hijack This log in the Hijack This Forum by following the directions in the link below if the programs above have not removed ALL malware. DO NOT post the log in this forum.

If malware is the cause of your problem, it may block you from using Hijack This. So, after downloading and before installing, try renaming it to something else like "myscan". If needed you can also change the .EXE to .BAT, .COM, .PIF, or .SCR. All are valid for renaming it.
