Aloha,

I want to do two things with certain programs so that I can more easily go between several programs. First I want to bring some programs, "Notepad" for example, to the front of the screen, the way task bar is always in front. The other thing I want to do is to make programs transparent or opaque, the way "process explorer" can go to varying degrees of transparency. Is that possible?

Much thanks

Hello,

http://home.insightbb.com/~ryanvm/tinyutilities/vitrite/ is a utility that can alter the transparency of applications.
Regarding the task bar, right click on a clear space on the bar, select properties, then un check the keep bar on top of other apps.

Hope this helps
Regards,

Alan.

That does help Indeed. Thanks. Just one more question if I could. . . How can I make another program, besides the taskbar, stay "always on top". I want to make MS Word stay on top of other programs so that I can cut and paste easily when Im doing research. Or is that just not possible?

Your best bet would be to resize your application windows so that they can stay on top. By doing it that way, you can have a couple of program windows always on top.
