My Pc Don't Recognize Usb Device

any Usb device like Usb flash drive, or memory card reader i plug in my pc it always says unknown device.

What have you done to the system recently?
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

its my other pc, its windows 98 and from the start it really don't recognize any usb device... like memory card reader, or usb flash drive.but once i insert a usb device it says found new hardware, and after a while it will say unknown device.and it wont appear in my computer.help me...

Look in Device Manager and see if there are any yellow exclamation points by the universal serial buss controllers. Probably have to uninstall/reinstall the usb drivers

that's what i was wondering, no question mark and exclamation point on device mnager.do i need a software to enable usb devices?
