Hello,

Windows firewall will block inbound threats to a certain degree which isn't much, and has no ability to block outbound threats.

Comodo does protect against these threats, and is the lightest firewall I have used in a long time.

I would recommend comodo
Regards,

Alan.

I have used the Windows XP firewall since XP hit the market place, I have never been infected by a worm or port exploit, it has provided me with excellent inbound protection. It's integrated into the operating system and has worked flawlessly with any antivirus program I have ever used, with minimal system impact.

Sygate or Comodo, both of which are free, are stronger firewalls (they protect both ways) but have easy access to logs and configurations options that the Windows firewall lacks.

John
