G'day guys,

Can anybody shed some light on this problem.

Every time I try to type a user name and password into a log-on field on one of my computers there is no cursor blinking in the box, hence I am unable to type anything. Where it tells me to type my email address, I can place my mouse pointer over it and when I click on the field to start typing it's just a blank empty box without a blinking cursor.

Any help would be appreciated as I'v never come accross this before.

Just a bit more info on this......

It seems this is only happening in an active web page.

I am able to type in the address bar (URL) and any other boxes such as the run box etc.

This is driving me nuts as I'm sure it must be something simple that i'm missing.

Funny you should mention that, JackTheHaack.
I do believe that's the reason I am nuts.
I find that to be the case an inordinate amount of the time.
It's also the reason I hadn't replied.
I dunno.

Beats the 'ell outta me! :flowers:

Yet another reason I advance towards Linux with twinges of trepidation.
Even though I shouldn't.

Have undue concerns, I mean.

Sounds as though you might want to do a system restore to before the problem started (?).

Strange system behavior, very strange...

KoanYorel,

That would be nice but it's a W2K machine........

I have a clean ghost image of the disk but I just wanted to see if I could find out why before I re-imaged it.

I hate it when the box beats me  :flowers:

I understand. I hate not knowing the why's and wherefor's myself.

And I usually hesitate too, before recommending a restore/ghost, as it doesn't always help....

Let us know if you figure it out....

Good Luck on ya 'Mate...
