I recently downloaded MS office 2003 reader. Since that time I constantly get a win installer popup.
When I attempt to open outlook express .........the popup comes on and shortly thereafter I get a window that says" Outlook express has encountered a problem and must close".

any help would be appreciated, thanks
Jayrbee

BTW, am running Xp home
too, since encountering this problem spell checker is no longer usable......the option is greyed out

Hello,

If you go to start then run type services.msc and press enter. scroll down the list and look for windows installer, make sure the service is started.

If the service is started, the problem is probably with outlook. try downloading outlook and installing it again

Welcome to Bleeping Computers....

What version of Internet Explorer do you have on this system?

Do you have the Windows install software for this computer?
