I have 2 problems which might be connected ??

1. Email not delivered (postmaster)
2. Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:4664.

I have been trying to send an email but each time I get a message from postmaster@ ******

With :
The message ......etc from... to .... failed to be delivered as the recipient is unknown on this server.

Please update your address book asap.

I searched the web for this problem and according to some, this is actually a trojan: Win32.Mydoom.O

Is this true and how do I get rid of it if it is?

AKA:
Win32.Mydoom.AX [Computer Asso, Win32.Mydoom.AY [Computer Asso, MyDoom.BC [F-Secure], MyDoom.BD [F-Secure], Email-Worm.Win32.Mydoom.am

Many thanks

  • You have word wrap turned on, this is making your logs difficult to read
  • Run notepad
  • Goto Format and untick Word Wrap
After that please post a new HijackThis log

I have absolutely no idea. Furthermore, what are illegal cracks?? My internet / web knowledge is pretty basic to say the least. I have been searching for search engines that will help me improve my knowledge, specifically for technical, reference, internet lingo and explanations for improving better search results that are more relevant without all the other junk results.

I probably have several or more search engines that I don't need. I also have a whole pile of add-ons etc that I have installed and am still trying to work out how they all function. I know that add-ons etc are supposed to facilitate and enhance firefox, so I am attempting to teach myself all the multiple ways to increase better searching and shortcuts etc.

If you feel like / have the time to give me a few pointers, I would really appreciate it.

Oh, where is this illegal crack toolbar, and what's the name so I can get rid of it.

Many thanks

To assist diagnosis I would like a list of installed programs.
  • Open HijackThis and select Open the Misc Tools section
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Managerů
  • Select the Save List button
  • I suggest that you accept the default name of uninstall_list.txt and save the file to your desktop
  • Close HijackThis
Post back with the uninstall list

Hi.

Here is the HJT Uninstall list that you requested. You will see that I have marked in colour the ones that seem to be duplicated without first uninstalling old one. Regarding all the windows / security and Hotfix updates - are they correct. There just seems to be so many of them.

As you can see, I have attached a screen shot of all add-ons etc. I am hoping that you can help me with these, as in, do they conflict with another, do the same type of jobs, necessary, total waste of time ??

I wanted to also add the long list of search engines that I seem to have accumulated, but don't know where I can locate the complete list, like with the HJT programs.

Many thanks for you continued help and advice. It is always greatly appreciated.

Please don't edit your logs, it just makes them harder to read

As you can see, I have attached a screen shot of all add-ons etc. I am hoping that you can help me with these, as in, do they conflict with another, do the same type of jobs, necessary, total waste of time ??

I don't know, my expertise lies in removing malware, not troubleshooting firefox issues

Run HijackThis
Click on do a system scan only
Place a checkmark next to these lines(if still present)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {206E52E0-D52E-11D4-AD54-0000E86C26F6} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B6FFE2AE-4D12-451F-B457-FE6125FFB1CF} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D5792AA9-D373-4039-8670-2CDAB6A71F15} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: Crack Find Search - {A6790AA5-C6C7-4BCF-A46D-0FDAC4EA90EB} - C:\WINDOWS\SrchPlug.dll

Then close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix Checked

Go here to run an online scannner from Kaspersky.
  • Click on "Kaspersky Online Scanner"
  • A new smaller window will pop up. Press on "Accept". After reading the contents.
  • Now Kaspersky will update the anti-virus database. Let it run.
  • Click on "Next">"Scan Settings", and make sure the database is set to "extended". And check both the scan options. Then click OK.
  • Then click on "My Computer", and the scan will start.
  • Once finished, save the log as "KAV.txt" to the desktop.
Post back with the Kaspersky log and a new HijackThis log
