I had a nasty crash the other day (I plugged a set of headphones into the wrong jack of the sound card; froze the computer & led to a high pitched noise) and now for some reason whenever I reboot My Computer has a window open directed at C:\WINDOWS\system32.

Somebody suggested a piece of the sounddriver may have disappeared or something.
Anyone know how to fix this? I'm on XP Pro SP2

You can try updating the driver for your sound card.
