Hello Everyone,

I have been advised that Somewhere along the line my Windows Outlook and Internet Explorer have been uninstaled, and that they need to be reinstaled, especially Windows Outlook.

I have Windows Outlook express installed, but I don't use it, since I am an AOL customer.

How can I find out exactly what version of outlook I need to install, since, there seem to be a few of them ?

My machine;
OS: Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 1
128 MB of RAM

I'll be glad to receive some good advice, I have had this problem for to long already. :thumbsup: !

It's possible that the Outlook you had was part of MS Office.

Do you have any portions of Office - Word, Excel, etc.? If so, what version are they?

More importantly, I would think, is your statement that Internet Explorer has been uninstalled. Have you resolved this issue?

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

I see you only have Windows XP SP1. Is there a particular reason why you are not upgrading to SP2?

JohnWho,

I am in the process of updateing to SP2, but I would like to solve these issues first, then I intend on getting a CD to install SP2.

The following may give readers some insight to my present problem;

Letter sent to Paul Thurrot's Super Site;

I am having a problem, somehow my Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook were uninstalled.

I have a fax software, Ring Central Smart Fax 2002 and it will not work without MS Outlook,

The following are three communications from them, if you can tell me what to do to correct this for my machine;

OS: Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 1
128 MB of RAM

Will be appreciated.

Jove

Dear Jove,

No, this is not AOL related problem. Most likely you have problems with compatibility with Microsoft Outlook.
We strongly recommend you to reinstall Microsoft Outlook.

In last hand, please select your Microsoft Outlook as default email client.You may continue using AOL as long as you want but when prompted to make AOL default, please cancel.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reply directly to this email.

Thank you for choosing RingCentral as your communications provider!

Sincerely,

Customer Service

Dear Jove,

Do not confuse Microsoft Outlook with Outlook Express, which comes with Windows.

Microsoft Outlook 2000 comes with Microsoft Office 2000, or as a separate application
Microsoft Outlook 98 comes as a separate application, since there is no Microsoft Office 98.
Microsoft Outlook 97 comes with Microsoft Office 97, or as a separate application.

Check if there is Microsoft Outlook in Windows Start > Programs, even if you get an error message trying to start it

Dear Jove,

Yes, I'am sure that your Microsoft Outlook was installed and then uninstalled from your computer.
Unfortunately it's true that there is no way to overcome this problem.
Some time ago Microsoft company decide to not support Windows messaging system with Windows XP anymore.
This means that in order to use Ring central software with Windows XP you need to reinstall Microsoft Outlook.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reply directly to this email.

Thank you for choosing RingCentral as your communications provider!

Sincerely,

No Issues have been resolved.

Here is some search result info. that may make more sense to you than it does to me concerning
remnants of previous installations.

If I have posted this before please except my apologeies, this issue is driving me in circles!

:thumbsup:
