Hi all! I am trying to hook up a wireless connection to my laptop pc from my roommates Mac. I bought a linksys router and wireless card, only I am unable to install the router in the Mac. Do I need to get something specific to the mac? If I do, will it still work with my wireless card in my pc? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!!

The mac doesn't have a wireless card since it plugs right into cable. The cable is supposed to be capable of supporting a wireless connection (through Verizon), but she doesn't actually plan to use wireless. I am the only one that needs it, but I live upstairs far away from any cable connection. So, I need to hook the router up to the downstairs cable and have my laptop (Upstairs) be able to run off of the signal. Does she have to have a wireless card in order to hook the router up to her computer? I am afraid that I am very unexperienced in the world of wirelss networking... Thanks for responding!!

OK I am a little confused. You have a verizon dsl modem that plugs into what? Is the verizon dsl modem wireless? Is what it plugs into wireless?
