thi swebsite is my problem:

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/deskt...spire_e700.html (i can acess that)

but the two links WINDOWS VISTA DRIVER UPDATE and WINDOWS VISTA APPLICATION UPDATE

display this Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Now this problem isn't to do with My Mcafee 2007 Total Protection at all as i tried the links with it uninstalled
so with Internet Explorer 7 i tried this Network Diagnostics and displays this:

Windows did not find any problems with your connection over HTTP and HTTPS.....but was unable to make a succesful connection over FTP......mostly cause is Firewall client installed on your machine....in my case has nothing to do with Firewall........this FTP is Port 20-21 so can anyone help me?

Acer Technical Support are able to access the Download these 2 files which are over 200mb each....i contacted my uncle and was able to download these 2 links also but i can't....i don't want to get my uncle to do it because he hasn't enough internet allowance for this so i will try here for some help....

If you need a FTP client check the freeware section in my sig. There is a database of 296 programs which are all tested.

I have tried both links in FF and IE6 and if I click Windows Vista Driver Update than I get a download of a zipfile, Why not try to rightclick the link and do save as?

What about your firewall settings. Which firewall do you have?
Are you behind a network?

In IE7 under Extra Internet Options Advanced what did you tick going down from the header surfing downwards?

425 means that your application was unable to open a data connection.
it will first try on port 21 and than at a random high numbered port ( over 50000) try to open up any of these ports
