Just wondering if there are any free sites that allow you to download music ?

I am interested in only LEGAL sites. I am guessing that it would have to be music that is no longer copyrighted.

I did a search on Google and found some that claim to be legal but I thought I would check with Bleeping Computer for input.

Does anyone have experience in this matter ?

Thank You for your time

Dennis

Not sure what genre of music you like but try this
for totally legal down loads.

http://bt.etree.org/ for torrents

Look for the live music archives.

or here,

you can also try Sugarmegs, although I'm not sure if it's all legal

There are many indy bands or groups that provide free downloads, just to get people to interested in their music.
Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one should be silent.

Most of these legal MP3's are not mainstream music and starter bands. I remember "Jonas Brothers" used to offer free downloads but not anymore after getting popular. A friend of mine downloads celtic music from here : http://www.celticmp3s.com/free/
