When I try to sign in to ebay I get re directed to a scam page asking for alot of information that I would never want to give out. After reading on the ebay boards it seems others are having this same problem and it's some sort of virus or something. The suggestion was made to run hijack this and attach the log file to this type of site and maybe someone could help me. I do not see an option to attach a file though.

Read the article that I quote below. If that is what is happening, then it doesn't mean you have malware on your computer. Let us know if that is the case.

Some of the scams run on the auction Web site are almost invisible to the untrained eye. eBay lets sellers customize their auction pages using Web programming techniques and automated tools. However, attackers are abusing this freedom to build auction pages that include a rigged listing. When potential customers click on the link, it sends them to a phishing site.

I don't think this is what's happenening. I can type www.ebay.com into the address bar and get the ebay home page. When I click sign in I go to the ebay sign in page. Once I enter my user name and pass word I'm re-directed to this page. It keeps me from even being able to sign into ebay from this computer

In that case:

Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Great, but I have to tell you that the malware today seldom comes alone. I would take the time to follow thru with the rest of the instructions. Were you able to see what malware was actually removed?
