Windows Automatic Updates

so im using the automatic update and when i go to the "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAM" its cluttured with
40 security update for windows XP, 2 Security update for windows media player, 5 Update for windows XP,and 13 Windows XP Hotfix. IS THIS NORMAL?

Yes, it's normal. There is a check box at the top to not display the updates in this list.

Yes, that's normal. Those updates get logged into your Add/Remove Programs section.

You can also see references of those updates by going to your Windows folder, and you'll see folders that look similar to this:
$MSI31Uninstall_KB893803v2$ or this
$NtUninstallKB873339$ or similar.
