Cannot Save File In Network

hi all,

i jz wondering why i can't save an excel document from other's pc in network.when i opened the file it says "read only"then when i save it.it says unable to save.anybody have any idea on this?please help.TQ.colleage

This could be because another user has it open at the time. This will only open a read only copy. Or this could be a permissions issue on either the document or the containing folder on the network.
