Hi, I am a newbie and not brilliantly technical so I apologise in advance for any silly questions:

I think I have been infected with the bt.car problem so I know I have quite a long road ahead of me to get rid of it. From reading the threads on here it appears that my number one task is to use SpyBot and Ad-aware.

But I can't download Ad-aware from any of the links on this site. There are versions to pay for, but nothing to download. Do you have to pay for it? Am I downloading it wrong?

Can someone please help me on this first step into SpyWare removal.

Many Thanks

Try downloading it from here if tose links aren't working

That should work, and if not you are probably downloading it wrong.

Thank you both. I am at work today, so won't be able to do this until later, but really appreciate the quick replies. Will come back and let you know how I get on.

Thanks again, everyone

I have now completed all the various bits and bobs necessary to post a Hijack This log for the experts to look at and hopefully my lovely new laptop will revert to its former, clean self!
