I noticed that Windows does not update manually.

Error number: 0x8024402C

I have followed online steps to resolve to no avail. Also Panda AV is not updating Error: 404 as well as Comodo Firewall Error: 106

Jst wondering if these things could be related?!?

EDIT:

Various internet searches have led me to believe that it could be something to do with proxy settings but still no solution has presented itself. Why these thing happen is beyond me  , drives me :flowers: ! Was working fine till now, but still...

Microsoft released a Knowledge base article referring to that problem. It seems to be related to Proxy setting in your system.
The other two error codes appear to be server busy or unavailable messages.
How often do you have these messages?

Additional Info>>>

You could have a bad Resolve Cache entry. Try clearing your Rcache.
Go to Start then Run. Type in cmd in the dialog box and press <enter>. When the Command line appears type in ipconfig /flushdns. and press <Enter>.
When finished exit and attempt to connect again to the update sights.

According to the Comodo Knowledge Base "Error 106" it refers to a busy server.

I have tried a free Proxy which has got Panda AV updating. However when using for Windows Update I get a new error:

0x80072EFD

The listed resolutions do not resolve issue. Will scan computer to check for virus/spy-ware etc. So some progress at least.

*as he continues to do battle with computer*
