When I try to use shared mp3s over my network I get this error message
The File in Use
This file is currently in use close the file, and then try to perform the desired action again.
Error ID = 0x80070005 Remedy ID 0x00000000

The files aren't open they have full read write access I have windows xp home edition and I don't know what else to do can anyone help me?

Are you u sing windows media player 9 or 10? Try to get the latest version and see if the problem persists

I am now using 10 on both computers the error messege is basicaly the same windows cannot access this file this file is in use. I don't understand it is shared like all the rest of my files why isn't it working

What if you download winamp and try playing it. Does it work then? Trying to see if this is a wmp issue

Thanks It works in winamp I also tried to use musicmatch jukebox but there isn't a network option I did manage to get a file in there by copying the folder to the desktop but it wouldn't play I guess I'll use winamp now instead Thanks again
