Win Media Player Refuses To Play Dvd

I installed a dvd player/burner and cant play back dvd on Win Media Player 10.
I get the message " Windows media player cannot play compatible dvd decoder is not installed on your computer"

It sounds like you need some codecs, that aren't installed on your computer. Go here:

FREE Codecs
http://www.free-codecs.com
and on the left side of the screen, goto the section called Codec Packs, and download the one that says XP Codec Pack.

Also, you may want to try these other softwares, that are right there on that left side navigation.
VideoLan... it'll play almost any format when other players don't
Media Player Classic
Real Alternative
QuickTime Alternative


all of those programs are FREE, and also, they are small in size, and doesn't install unwanted files/programs on your computer.

Woo-Hoo Thats what I'm talking about.

I downloaded the Win XP codec pac and bam we were watching DVD on the burner/player.
