Infected With The Spydawn Thing...

Hey, I'm a first time poster here, and I need to know how I can get rid of this little SpyDawn thing (you know the thing that gives you a system alert saying there's malware on the computer and tries to get you to download some program). I've seen the page that describes the troublesome file, and I've tried to delete it by tracing it to its origin, but it doesn't let me. So I guess maybe I should try HJT and see if it finds it.

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad".
This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article:

You are well advised to remove the program now.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present:

Viewpoint
Viewpoint Manager
Viewpoint Media Player


Then reboot.

Double click on Smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 Search, by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy and paste the content of that report into your next reply.
