Active Virus Shield
There's a nice setup tutorial Here:

Thanks, d/l and installing suggested antivirus software: the first link to grisoft doesn't seem to be working. Can I delete this in the meantime:

Winlogon Notify: HdAupen - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\HdAupen.dll

the first link to grisoft doesn't seem to be working.

I've fixed the AVG link, and you're wasting your time trying to delete that file,it requires Vundofix to remove it.
Please follow those instructions in the order they were posted, thanks

Msconfig won't open. Any suggestions? A few minutes before I posted my log, I had changed to selective startup, but for some reason, I can no longer get to it. Should I proceed with regedit?
