hello everyone! i've been reading a lot on here for some time now. i have a question about something that my computer has never done before, and i just want to make sure that its safe to turn my computer off. basically, this is what shows up when i go to turn my computer off...its never asked me if i want to install something before shutting down. now there has been a notice that says that i have to restart before the install takes effect, but this is totally different. any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I had that experience a few days ago. I have no idea what the update was. It happened before update Tuesday. I did allow it. Nothing sinister happened. I had turned down, so I thought, a day before, an update for the program that identifies your Windows as being legit or not. Can't think what that is called.

Yep, it is a genuine Microsoft action.
