Win XP Home SP2
Recently wanted to turn on the Guest account so my grandson could use the computer w/o messing my stuff up ==Was able to turn the account on BUT It would NOT allow me to log-on saying it could not load the profile ?? Any ideas ?? permissions ?? == Dont believe it has anything to do with anti-virus or spyware but in any event the system is "clean" ===== Im the ONLY user

You might want to create a Limited account for your Grandson.
Have a look at; Types of User Accounts.
Guest accounts are more for home network use.

ThX zdb == Have looked at both links and am familiar with what the say == Went into safe mode == guest acct is NOT listed. It does show up on my wifes machine

TMack = thx 4 the welcome = im typing one finger L handed so excue any misttakes = broke my r wrist laast week = Im familliar w the different accounts = i did create a limitted account but it wouldnt let me log on - went in and reset to admin acct = logged on ok wwent back and reset to unlimuited scct = now logs on Ok
Went to safe mode tthen user accts NO guest acct !! Any suggestions OTHER than a re-install of WIN ?? I definitely dont want to go that route
If i have to i'll live with what i have

If you can access the Limited account,don't worry about the guest account.
You won't gain anything by having it. As I said in my last post,guest accounts are mostly used for home networks.
