I have spent quite a bit of time today searching this forum for my topic, but didn't see anything. If I'm at the wrong place, please redirect me.

No matter what size or type of font I've been trying to use, the font appears broken up.
It's like little dashes connected together, somewhat fuzzy. Very bold font looks the smoothest. Even the url address bar is bad. Is there a particular font style that is usually preset in computers? I'd like to get the original font style back. All the forums that I go to have this same effect.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

It sounds like something messed up your settings for ClearType. To get it back again, right click your desktop and go into Properties-Appearance Tab. Then click the Effects button. Tick the second choice "to smooth edges of screen fonts" and then choose ClearType in the drop down.

Thanks mammabear :flowers:
The font looks much better here at this forum. I'll have to see if it's okay at a few others.
I really appreciate your help
