I get a popup message that says that I have some trojan or something, but its not from an antivirus program or anything. Also, Internet Explorer loads up with a website every minute or so, so I close that.

Hello,

First of all, you didn't unzip/extract hijackthis.. and it's still in the tempfolder.
So I strongly advise to unzip/extract hijackthis.zip.
Read here how to unzip/extract properly:
http://metallica.geekstogo.com/xpcompressedexplanation.html
Create a permanent folder and move hijackthis.exe into it. The reason is because hijackthis creates backups and when it's in your temp-folder it can be accidentally deleted.
How do you make a permanent folder:

Click My Computer, then C:\ and then on Program Files.
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis".
Now you have C:\Program Files\HijackThis. Put your HijackThis.exe there.

* Please download the Suspicious File Packer from here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/files/sfp.zip
Unzip it to the desktop and run it.

Paste the following bold part into the Suspicious File Packer window:

C:\WINDOWS\mslog.exe
C:\Program Files\Install Provider\InstallProvider.dll

Allow SFP to pack the file. This will generate a CAB archive on your desktop.
Go to this page.
Enter the url of this thread in the first field.
Where it says, browse to the file that you want to submit, click the browse button next to the second field and browse to the CAB archive that was been created on your desktop.
The cab file will be called requested-files[*].cab (the * stands for the date and hour).
Then click the Send File button below.

I see you have WinAntiVirus Pro 2007 installed. I strongly recommend you uninstall it since it's a so called scanner with a bad reputation.

Also, i see you installed Megaupload Toolbar. This one also has a questionable reputation. That's why I also suggest you uninstall it.
From the Megaupload Toolbar Eula:

"This toolbar integrates certain services from alexa internet,inc. ("Alexa"). The toolbar may exchange data with Alexa in order to provide: (a) information to you about the web pages you view (ranking information, for example) and (:thumbsup: basic information to alexa on your use of the toolbar, including the ip address of your computer, the url of the web pages you visit and, because the toolbar communicates via http, data typical of normal http communications such as user agent and operating system, will be communicated."

And as a final note, You are using Download Accelerator - DAP Be informed that it delivers popup/popunder ads, and tracks your internet usage. You can find safer alternatives here: http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php?cat=dlman#dlman
I suggest you remove it. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove it

Reboot after uninstalling!

Then do next:

* Download reglooks from here and save it to your desktop.
Doubleclick reglooks.exe and wait until a logfile appears.
The log will be called result.txt.
Copy and paste the contents of this log in your next reply together with a new Hijackthislog.

Extra instructions..

Also do next please..;

Download and Save blacklight to your desktop.
F-Secure Blacklight: https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement.
click > scan then > next,
You'll see a list of all items found - if found, so don't worry it tells that there were no files found.
In case hidden files were found, Don't choose for rename yet! I want to see the log first, because legit items can also be present there...
There must be also a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers)

Open notepad and copy and paste next present in the quotebox in it:

cd %ProgramFiles%
dir /a "Install Provider" >> look.txt
start notepad look.txt

Save this as look.bat , choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
It should look like this: Posted Image
Doubleclick on it and notepad should open.
Copy and paste the contents of it in your next reply as well together with the log from Blacklight.
(In case you are unsure how to create a bat file, take a look here with screenshots.)

So I need the following logs in your next reply:

* Log from reglooks
* Log from Blacklight
* New Hijackthislog
* Log from look.bat you created.

You may need more than one reply to post the logs.
