I'm a computer rookie. Original problem was typing in a website would send me to the wrong website. Found this happens with clicking on links too. Always the same wrong website. Followed the prep guide to follow prior to posting HJT log. The steps didn't solve the prob but found (unable to fix) clogger.c, downloader.small.BAR and banker.VB.AG. was able to fix DNSchanger.hg. In looking at those problems they date back to June 2006. The prob with the wrong website has only been around the last month. Hope you can help. Much appreciated.

Welcome to BleepingComputer BN40

Please disable Spybot S&D’s Resident[TeaTimer] protection,or it will interfere.
When everything is done and your log is clean, you can re-enable it.
If TeaTimer gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow the changes, don't block it.
How to disable TeaTimer during HijackThis Cleanup:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/teatimer.htm
Then download ResetTeaTimer.bat:
http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat
Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by TeaTimer.

********************************

Download and run Fixwareout from the link below:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe
After the reboot post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt in your next reply, along with a new Hijackthis log.

Hi RichieUK,

Thanks for your reply. I followed the first link on how to disable teatimer. Second link I was confused at and didn't understand what to do. Am I to send an updated log? Sorry but just a rookie at this.

Please disable Spybot S&D’s protection,or it will interfere.
You can enable it after you're clean.
Open Spybot and click on 'Mode' and check 'Advanced Mode'.
Click on 'Tools' in bottom left hand corner.
Click on the 'System Startup' icon.
Uncheck 'Teatimer' box and/or uncheck 'Resident'.
Click the 'Allow Change' box.
Then, check next to the computer clock to see if the icon for Spybot is still there.
If it is, right click it and choose 'exit Spybot-S&D Resident'.
Reboot the computer.

thanks for message. Can't find teatimer box under startup icon. It is unchecked in Resident. Also can't find allow changes box. Sorry once again. Appreciate the patients.

Please follow these instructions very carefully.

Launch/start up AVG Anti-Spyware.
On the main page click the 'Update' tab,and then 'Start Update'.
Note:
If you have any problems running the update process prior to running the scan,download/install the 'Full Database' from here:
http://download.ewido.net/avgas-signatures-full-current.exe

Once the updates have been installed,do the following:
Select the 'Scanner' icon at the top of the screen, then select the 'Settings' tab.
Once in the 'Settings' screen, under 'How to act?',then under 'Set default action for detected malware to:', click on 'Recommended actions',then click on 'Quarantine'.
Under 'Reports' select 'Automatically generate report after every scan' and unselect 'Only if threats were found'.
Exit AVG Anti-Spyware,don't run the scan just yet.

You might want to print/copy the following as you need to be in Safe Mode from here on.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE using the F8 method.
To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
A menu will appear with several options.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:

Still in Safe Mode launch AVG Anti-Spyware.
Click the 'Scanner' icon at the top.
To start the scan click on 'Complete System Scan'.

Next click on 'Save Report'.

Then select 'Yes',your 'System Restore' directories will be purged.

Turn 'System Restore' back on:
Right click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'.
Select 'System Restore'.
Unselect 'Turn Off System Restore On All Drives'.
Select 'Apply',then click 'Ok'.

Create a new 'System Restore' point:
Click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
