No Sound On Game

I just bought the old DOS game Tie Fighter and I don't know how to get sound on the game. The install program doesn't recognice my soundcard and none of the options will work. My sound card is listed as a Realtek AC97. Thanks in advance and please help me !!!!! Stratomaster

If sound works with over games then it's probably the games fault.
