Hello to all of you,

I am new here and I don't know if I am posting in the right section so I am sorry if I got it wrong.

I have noticed today a strange service in my services list. Is called Dbpiipdersci and it has absolutely no description. My question is how can I find out what program installed it and how can I know if is good or bad. At the moment I have disable it but any advice would be most welcome

Well, I've never heard of it and neither has Google (can you double check the spelling? Just is case)

My recommendation, simply based on the weird feeling I get when even Google is at a loss, is to disable the service immediately. And then reboot and go about your business noting if any programs don't act normally.

Also, I'd do a full system scan with antivirus, antispyware, and anti-everything.

Next, post a HijackThis Log for analysis to see if there are any nasties hiding in your PC

I have to concur with posting a HijackThis log in the correct section of these boards. That is the sure sign of infection.

Split your HJT log off on it's own and moved it to the proper forum. You can find it at the following link: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/83875/strange-service-running/
