 Hi, never did this before but I NEED help. Had a power failure yesterday, started laptop today... needed password, never needed before. A friend had me check password registry and change to blank. I changed owner and admin passwords to blank and attempted to logon in safe mode with admin...didn't work One error message I got said "the local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively" another time a message said HPwirelessMgr.exe "unable to logon because of account restriction"

Does the computer think I am trying to use remote desktop connection?
Does anyone know how to change the password for that?

What about using the Quick restore disk? Will I use all the files on the computer?

many more questions...but they can wait...thanks for any help !!! :flowers:

The UBCD4Win has a tool that will allow you to reset passwords on a XP PC.

However you will need BartPE and a WinXP with SP1 or SP2 integrated to successfully build the CD.

Thanks for all the help... A friend helped me with BARTSPE and we were able to copy my files to a disk and re-install.
