Here is what it says:
A disk read error occurred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

and thats as far as it goes, it does this over and over, what the heck is going on?

If you go to the website of your HDD manufacturer you should be able to download a diagnostic tool that will scan your HDD for errors. If the scan shows errors then you'll probably need a new HDD.

If the scan shows no errors then there are a few other things you can try.

I saw that it uses a Seagate HDD so i went to that page "Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities" but what do i do when i get there, it looks like to use these programs you need to be able to get to the desktop screen but i cant even get past the black screen.

Download the ISO and burn it onto a CD. After finishing you reboot and it will come into the screen where you can check the hard disk for errors.
