Is there any way to speed up the disk access? Even on USB 2.0, it takes a long time to copy files and load programs like PortableApps.

I recently defragmented it, but it's still really slow at copying files. Could I maybe partition it to make it more than one disk and would that help it run faster?

At the risk of asking stupid question but did you install the drivers for it? ( Eventhough I have read that stupid questions don't exist..)

It doesn't matter which computer I use - it's Plug N Play.

Just the disk access for it is slow.

Are you using the encryption? That will slow things down.

As a side-note: If you want fast thumb-drives look at Kingston Secure Data Traveler or Corsair Flash Voyager.
