Us Robotics Modem

I hope this is the right section

I have a usrobotics 5686E external modem

I have lost the paperwork and the power supply

I need to know the

Amperage

voltage

wattage

of the original power supply

hopefully someone knows

the support site doesnt list it

I'm guessing that you need to purchase a new power cord for this? I couldn't find anything on the power specs, except that it comes with it's own AC adapter. :thumbsup: You can try talking with one of their techs right at the companies website (online assistance) to see if they know.

If that's the case, if I were you I'd first head down to the local Computer tech store and ask if they new or if the had one that worked. If that didn't work, I'd go to Radio shack and ask them, then to Best Buy and ask them. As a last resort, I'd buy a used modem with adapter off ebay and just use the adapter and keep the modem and other parts for "backups".

I tried finding it at local shops
no one knows which is the right one

ive had an email into support for a week no answer

I was hopeing someone here was using one and could give me the specs off the power supply and i could buy a new generic one

Call the U.S. Robotics Technical Support Department
Technical questions about U.S. Robotics modems can be answered by technical support specialists.

Be sure to have your modem’s model number handy before you call
technical support. Your modem’s model number is 5686.

In the United States and Canada
(888) 428-9450

9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. CST Monday - Friday

Automated service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Be sure to have your serial number and your model number, 5686, readily available.

Also look closely at the back where the adapter plugs in. You may see the DC voltage required.

the call is available at $2.50 a minute

by the time you get the information you need you could buy another
