Hello,
Would it be possible for you to have a look at my hjt log.
I`ve been having problems with my pc for a while and scans with ad-aware and spy bot have been "fixing" the same problems over and over. Also after following the preparation guide for use before posting this log, I downloaded zone alarm, one program that tries to access the internet is msmmi.exe, I can`t find any information on it, and is also in my start up list. Another problem that keeps happening is a popup from ucleaner reporting lots of problems on my system, I usually close it with the top right hand cross.
Thanks.

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Firewall auto setup] C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\winlogon.exe
Exit Hijackthis.

***********************************

Download WinPFind from the link below:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/oldtimer/winpfind.exe
Extract it to your C:\ folder.
This will create a folder called 'WinPFind' in the 'C:\' folder.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE" using the F8 method.
To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
A menu will appear with several options.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Open the C:\WinPFind folder and double-click on 'WinPFind.exe'.
Click on the 'Start Scan' button and wait for it to finish.
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works.
When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log file at C:\WinPFind\WinPFind.txt.
Please copy and paste that log into your next reply, along with a new Hijackthis log.
You may have to post the above in two seperate replies as the WinPFind is quite lengthy.

Hello RichieUK and thanks for all your help.

Sorry about missing the Hijack fix first time round!
I have downloaded winpfind as instructed, but when I click on run scan I get a message,- unable to open key "software\microsoft\windowsNT\current version\winlogon\notify" for read, after a few seconds then the scan hangs. Any advice on this please.

Thanks.
Tony.

PS, i am scanning in safe mode, logged on as administrator.

Ok,forget WinPFind,do the following:

Download 'e Scan MWAV' from here to your desktop:
http://www.mwti.net/download/tools/mwav.exe
Disconnect from the internet, close all running programs.
Double click on the mwav icon on your desktop.
The program will start, the Licence Agreement will pop up.
Select 'I accept the agreement',then press Ok.
The program will open, leave all the settings as they are.
Now press the 'Scan & Clean' button.
The program will now start scanning your pc.
Once the scan has finished, post the results from the lower window 'Virus Log Information'.
Also post a new Hijackthis log please.
Let me know how your pc is running now.

Hello,
Sorry for the delay, I ran e-scan MWAV but I couldn`t copy and paste just the virus log info, so found the similar looking info from the full log and pasted that, the full log is very long but if that would be better you can have it. Also below is a fresh hjt log. The pc seems to be running fine but as I do these various scans, AVG anti virus sometimes reports that a threat as been detected, when this happens I click " move to vault", is that ok.
Thanks for your continued help and patience, much appreciated.

Tony.

5. The page will refresh.
6. Click on the link to download 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' and save to your desktop.
7. Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
8. Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
