computer wont start

ther is a computer a compaq pentium iii that doesnt start but its fun are running.
It had no memory modules so i removed the memory of the same type of machine and installed on it but it doesnt show anything on tha screen.its hdd led grows continously and doesnt stop.Could it be the memory that has a problem or could it be other causes?

there are many things that may cause these symptoms.

Check out a few of the exellent tutorials this site has on how the machine works.
The video might be out or the hdd not working, lots of different things . It is always a process of elimination to finding hardware problems
