hi,

I recently got infected by vundo dn thought i'd share my experience. I know the direct source of my infection, and I'm sad to say that every page on the site loads the exploit to launch the installation of the trojan.
I got the usual symptoms of the trojan launching both firefox and interenet explorer windows displaying various web sites/ not adds for various things like porn, music, and an anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, and then the messages from internet explorer saying that i was infected and to click ok to download the av program. of course no sequence of keys prevented the initialization of the download.
So I tried sav client, whcih picked up the associated dll files and access denied, quarantined them but only in the temp folder. However the browser windows and adds didn't stop. Next i looked round the web and seen various topics about removing the trojan. So I decided i'd try the panda online scanner, and when the initail window for this application started and the install activex plugin(for the panda av) screen came up, the malware inserted a semi transparent add over the panda screen to lure you into clicking to install the win-antivirus. At this stage I seemed to be having problems esolving name, and of course I found that my dns had been changed - nasty stuff indeed. so i of course flushed dns and then chaned back to default.
Next i downloaded the vundo tool for symantec, didn't pick up anything, and then i stumbled onto another tool from a company at Atribune.org, which identified some of the dlls, tried to remove them but was unable to stop them from reappearing. The files were packed with UPX.
Using spybot and hijack this log had proved inaffective up t this point. BHO in spybot would re-appear the minute i deleted them. So I went to sys32, and created files to disable the dll components manually, dirty hack, but probably unexpected by the trojan - for each file eg ijjjs.dll, i created a file called ijjjs.dll.manifest. this creates a problem for windows to execute the file (try it with notepad.exe). next I used vundo to find the files and delete them, i also killed explorer so as to force any injected threads to force a restart, thus connecting with the dlls and having difficulties. at this stage all dlls could be deleted. All entries to the BHOs could be removed, and the teatimer function in spybot enabled and set up to accept the changes, forcing any subsequent change to be granted or denied (denied in this case) :flowers: .
So the popups have gone away, but now i have a barage of spybot notification that there is a program trying to change the esttings again. So i have contained the threat, but now I have spybot windows instead of winantivirus message  It is tring to revert the setting, but it doesn't realise that the dlls are deleted and not reappearing.
Anyways please find my HJ Log, and a log from spybot about start up objects. can you see what is beiing started and where? I'm thinking that at this stage a binary might have been patched but windows file protector did not complain about this.I will post some other relevent logs also.

any help/advise would be appreciated!
