Finding Drivers For Sata Hard Drive

i bought a pc a few days ago... discovered my hatred for windows vista and want to put xp on it.
i now know how... my problem is i cannot find the driver for my hard drive anywhere...
(hitachi HDT725025VLA SCSI)
my pc came with no disks for vista was alreaddy on it and vista has the drivers built in... xp needs the drivers... have searched online... including Hitachi and acer (my oem) sites but have had no joy....
can anyone help????

Actually, what you need are the drivers for the SATA controller. These are normally a part of the motherboard/chipset drivers and would be available from the website of the maker of the motherboard (Acer I presume from your post).

The driver should come in a file than can be extracted to a floppy disk - and from there I believe that you can use Device Manager to update the SATA drivers.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
