 First of all thank you in advance for this site. Help please. I found a post about this same thing on this site (tiru posted 6-2-04) and and thought I would try to fix my problem with the info posted on that thread. No luck.
my home page and favorites are changed and I have found no anti-virus/spam remover that would touch them. I am attaching the most recent log file with this. Please Help!

also when I try to shutdown or reboot It has been taking forever to close a process? called WIN MIN ( the window that gives you the "end now" button). didn't notice this untill I started having problems. what is win min? is it related?
Thank you

Download and install APM from: http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=apm

Close all windows except HijackThis and fix the lines below:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Sean\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Sean\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Sean\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Sean\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Sean\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://mypoisk.com/index.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {80110CF9-08E1-47CC-9CFD-2D2325C4A053} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\djpid.dll

Now run the APM program that you installed and when it opens select explorer.exe in the upper window.

In the lower window find and right-click this file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\djpid.dll

Then select Unload DLL and click OK on the prompts that follow.

Then download CWShredder from the below link and unzip it into a directory. Start CWShredder and click on the FIx button to have it remove all CWS infections it finds.

Download CWShredder from:

http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip

After you download the program, unzip it into a directory. Make sure all browser windows are closed and double click on the cwshredder.exe to start the program. When the program is loaded click on the "Check for Update" button, and if it finds an new version it will download it. You should then double click on cwshredder.exe again and click on the "FIX" button (not the "Scan only" button) and let it scan your computer.

A tutorial that goes over this process step by step can be found here:

How to remove CoolWebSearch with CoolWeb Shredder

Reboot and download and run Ad-aware (make sure you update the program first)

A tutorial for ad-aware can be found in my tutorial section

 still no change. I followed the above instructions to the letter "I think" with the exception of, when I ran APM. I did not see/find the
C:\windows\sys32\djpid.dll file.
I am attaching the latest hijackthis log. all the items we fixed seem to be right back on the list. Thank you again.

Hi roadracer68

it appear this particular one is in shredders database so i hope i works

Click here to down load CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom, the creator of Hijack This

If you have it already then make sure it is v1.59.0

Run it, press 'Fix', and allow it to fix all it finds.
And remember to click "Fix" (Not "Scan only")
Reboot

CWS installs via the byte verifier exploit in M$ JavaVM so just surfing a page with an infected applet can install it with no user participation. So once you’ve run the above, it is vital that you go here, click Scan for updates in the main frame, and download and install all CRITICAL updates recommended.

Get the service pack for your browser and your OS

come back and post a fresh log

It seems to have worked. for a minute. My homepage was back and the added links in the favorite menu were gone. but as I was typing this, I went to open another IE window (to find a movie time without closing this window). when it opened I expected to see Yahoo, but got mypoisk instead.

(Here is the first log, I hope It is all clean.) <= from when I thought the problem was fixed. latest one follows at bottom

ok, I'm really at the point of tossing this thing out the window
since the last post I have run spybot, ad-aware, norton, hjt and cwshred a few times. I have cable connection, so I disabled that first. then ran the above. rebooted in safe mode and ran all again. spybot kept flagging 5 files (BDO's ?) cant remember if that is what it called them "something something overrides?".
norton found 6 suspect files , it deleted 2 the other 4 it said were still at risk?
adaware found 8 things and deleted them all. hjt didnt show any of the files which I was told to fix before. and I ran cw shred in safe mode last and rebooted.

when I opened IE It seemed that I have accomplished nothing except getting myself more :flowers: . I am not very knowlegable about this and have tried to follow this thread and advice in others. Is there something that I have missed or some other information that would be helpfull.

thank you
S. Pickrell

I want you to fix some of those entries. Please do the following:

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How to see hidden files in Windows

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then click the Fix button

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode and delete the following files:

Then delete these

C:\DOCUME~1\Sean\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
C:\WINDOWS\System32\bdljbaa.dll

Disable System Restore. You can find instructions on how to enable and reenable system restore here:

or

Renable system restore with instructions from tutorial above

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode and download and run the latest version of cwshredder. It should be version 1.59.1. Then post a new log
