I am just asking this question because there seem to be so many versions of Windows XP out there like xp black, xp crystal, 32 bit xp 64 bit xp, I could go on and on but I am wondering which versions do people think are the best or which versions do people use the most?

of my knowledge there are only two types on Windows XP- Home and Professional, I have never heard of Black or crystal-if there is such a thing they are most likely illegal. You could run the 64x version only if your computer has a 64 bit processor. Hope that helps clear up things

I also have never heard of Black or Crystal, this is the verison of XP I know of

XP Home, XP Pro, XP Pro x64, XP Media Center.

XP Pro x64 is the newest and I have yet to mess with it, but I like Xp media center more then the other 2.

black XP and crystal XP are skins, which you would download after you bought your original XP anyway  so those wouldn't matter when deciding on what version of XP you want.

My view.

Average user XP Home is fine.

Networked/Business user XP Pro would be better.

XP Pro 64-bit is lacking for drivers and not recommended at this time.

XP Media Center is for those who want to watch videos on their TV.

Media Center is designed for those planning on using it for media uses. (Waste of money though)

XP Pro 64x is a waste because Vista comes out so no more support for it lol. Just wait for Vista 64.
