Does anyone know a simple way to make my homepage load when I open a new tab? Currently a blank page comes up and I have to click 'Home' to be able to type in it.

Funnily enough when I open a new window the homepage loads immediately.

I have looked about in my Firefox options and on their website but the answer is alluding me!

I have the latest version Firefox/2.0.0.1, Themed Red Cats Green Flavour with Colourful tabs extension.

Hope all are having a great day. It's 5.12pm Sunday here on the East Coast of Aussie. (Maybe you are all asleep??)

I've been wondering about this also, but I've gotten so used to hitting the 'house' when opening a new tab it didn't really bother me.

But I found this extension, downloaded it and it worked for me:

Tab Mix Plus has this option, along with just about any other option you can think of to configure your tab's behavior.

 Thanks tink536 I really appreciate your help. I have tried on several occasions to fix this. Just a small annoyance but never the less, was bugging me. Your solve worked. Hopefully it's not buggy, but at this stage it's fantastic. Amazing how small things can make your day.

:flowers: Also thanks to arcman I'll have look at this one again. (Could be better than colourful tabs!)

Cheers.

Funnily enough when I open a new window the homepage loads immediately.

That's the difference between Tabs and Homepage.

The Home icon on the toolbar is put there for that purpose.

I actually just downloaded this myself, so when I opened a new tab I automatically hit the house even though it was already at my home page! Hopefully I'll break that habit soon!

I'll probably have the same problem. Haven't had time to play...had domestic duties!

If you really wanted to, you take the Home Icon right off your Toolbar!

View/Toolbars/Customize,then just drag and drop that little house into the Customize Toolbar window.

Reflect, repent, and reboot.

Thanks for feedback TMacK, I actually use the home tab alot for different things and couldn't do without it.
I just needed to tweak it so it would load my homepage so I could type directly into the address bar or search for something rather than it loading with nothing. Ideas come to me while surfing and I check them out before I forget. I like to work with tabs rather than clutter up the bottom of the screen.
I appreciate the input though. (Love customizing!)
