How do you convert files that play in Realplayer to something I can put on a CD, in iTunes, etc? I've seen some converter downloads, but they look pretty shady. The song I want to get is here: www.jwpepper.com
It's a sheet music store-search for "Ride" and scroll down a little until you see a song called just "Ride". There will be a link saying "real audio" and you can listen to it. How do I get it into a usable format?

For the rest of us....

1) Get Audacity
2) Set the preferences to your desired format e.g 44.1HZ, 16bit etc
3) Hit record and then play the audio file!
4) Stop your recording and save to the desired format
5) Finish

If anybody else has anything else to add please do!!
If all else fails, hit the reset button.

Tried it-my Audacity didn't pick it up. Might've had the wrong input device on though.

Yup check the input device, it could be set to 'wave' or 'what you hear'. Let me know how you get on!

You could try downloading Total Recorer from http://www.highcriteria.com/
It's capable of recording just about anything you want. Unfortunately it's not a free program, but it's not expensive either.
