Hi everyone. I wanted to announce the new arrival of my first grandson. He was born last night at 9:09pm Texas time. He weighed in at 7 lbs 12 ozs and is 21 in long. Mom and baby are doing fine. Of course, he's absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be happier. His name is Christian Xavier. I can't wait for him to come home!
Well, I wanted to share the happy news with all of you. Enjoy your day!
Now, let's do the happy dance!
 :inlove: :trumpet: :flowers:

Proud new nana,

Aww, y'all are the best! Thanks so much for the welcomes and greetings!
What cute pics too, Pandy! hehe
They don't resemble him much  but as soon as pics are developed, Koan, you'll get to see him.
My daughter has been starving ever since he was born, even before too, lol. Now if she could just make up her mind on what she wants, I could replace that oh-so-yummy hospital food with something she will actually eat. But she is sure she wants a bacon cheeseburger, cheese nips, and a chocolate shake. I guess that will have to do for now.
If Grinler doesn't object, I'll post a pic or two here when the time comes. Or I could do it via URL through Photobucket. OR I'll PM or email them to those who wanna see my handsome little angel. Either way, he'll be up for display soon enough. lol

Thanks so much my dearest friends.

Babies, yippeeeeee!

Congratulations, Texasangel. Your first grandson! Does that mean you already have a granddaughter?

Do you have any traditions in the US that are a "must-follow" when a child is born? Something like new daddies giving away cigars? In Belgium each visitor who comes to see the new-born baby, recieves "suikerbonen" (literally translation: sugar beans), which are sugar-coated chocolate candy wrapped in cute little packages. They're a bit like "Smarties"only mostly pastel-coloured.

Thanks again my dear friends for all the well wishes.
Touse, we have a couple of traditions for new babies. First of all, within the first 36 hours, we put a taste of honey on their tongues. I know this is not recommended but the theory is it's supposed to make the baby sweet. Cute huh? Also, within the first week, every immediate family member must kiss the feet and head of the baby. The theory here is that all the kisses on the head will keep him light-tempered. All the kisses on the feet will help make the baby adored by others all his life. These are just silly things that we do in our family. I think they are a bit better than those cigars. Other than religious ceremonies, I'm not sure what traditions abound here in the US. Those are just what we do.
Jason, I won't be changing my name, tyvm, lol. I'm still me, whether that is good or bad is up to each of you.
Yes, I have 2 little granddaughters as well, only we're raising one of them as our own. We've had her since she was born and we are mommy and daddy. She's the one I talk about often. She's 3. The other, my 'real' granddaughter is an angel also. She's gonna be 2 at the end of April.
Anyway, enough bragging here. :flowers:
Pictures to come.
Thanks again everyone!
