Hi RichieUK

I was able to complee all of the insturctions except the Hijack this on Fri eve. I was unable to take a peek at my computer yesterday..So want to give you the Hijack This log and update you on my actions

I did as you very specifically (loved the instructions) asked me to do
I also deleted the old java (had vers 2) - and did not reinstall yet - I tried several times and was unable so I am going to try again after I send this

At start up (first since doing all of the instructions except hijack this) I recd these messages at start up today

1. SPYBOT DETECTED this "ISUSPM Startup" PS I had just installed this trying to get rid of the javabyte etc
2. A window popped up oin the lower right corner and I closed it in error - I never saw it before it was red and said something about a Registry Changed

3. Here is my HT log
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND GREAT INFO

Uninstall Spybot S&D via Add\Remove Programs,then reboot.
Now try installing 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.0'.
If all goes well then reinstall Spybot.
You can download it from here:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/spybot.html

Let me know how you get on please.

Hi
I was quite pleased with myself as I thought about it before I read your post and considered removing and resinstalling the SPYBOT progam. then installing Java6 (something is seeping into the grey matter)
I am currently running CA ETrust EX AV and it has gotten along for a good while without any detections so it looks promising - I need to head out at 400PM 1600hrs and wont be back until late so will finish up with this BLEEPING TROJAN then - thanks again for all your attention, assistance, patience and very pprecise instructions (great for dummies like me)
I will definitely keep you posted as tothe reuslts and hopefully finished project!!

PS I was able to locate these files in my APPS folder - could I have just delted them and then emptied the recycle bin - I now it sounds way too easy - but just curious??

Thank you
kate

Hello RichieUK
I seems like I am all set
I did two scans and also checked on Ctl Panel to insure Java was installed

I do however have a quick question

How malicious was this trojan
How did I probably get it

Did each one of the downloads take one of them away at a time or did they all go collectively
Just curious

PS I donated - thanks a bunch!!
