Hello there!

A week ago I started playing a game called Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and it worked very well, I played at least 5 days without any problems. But there was some weird lines coming up and it ultimately froze, so I had to restart the computer, but when I logged in again I couldn't even get to the character selection screen because of the total chaos.

Now since then it's been like this and thismost of the time. I can't barely surf the net or play any games without these weird lines coming up.
The monitor also become black and then starts up again quickly. It also freezes completely which makes me have to reboot the computer.

I have a Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT graphics card and a Hyundai L90D+ monitor.
The graphic card temperature is at about 64.

Would appreciate help! :)

/Patrik

Hi, have you tried booting in safe mode? Windows will only load basic drivers for your video card. Temp is ok.

I'm in safe mode right now and I don't get the problems here.

Any further advice? (I'm not that good at computers)

You may need to update your drivers, what card do you have?

That looks surprisingly similar to what happened to a card I had with bad/broken/evil ram. And also like when I tried to unlock pipelines on my 6800 vid card.
Maybe you were playing and somehow burnt up your card? What were your temps in game?

But I would try a driver update.

I would try the video card in a different computer to see if its anything software related. If it still has those problems on a different pc, then we can probably be pretty safe to say the card dead...

And when you update drivers, be sure you fully remove the previous drivers to avoid a conflict.

Note: It could work in safemode because windows loads just the bare minimal to get your computer running. Which means no drivers, and probably not as much of the special stuff on the video card.

Maybe you could try Omega drivers?

I uninstalled the drivers altogether and reinstalled again, then the lines and the weird monitor-thing vanished. I could surf and all that. But when I started a game (World of Warcraft) I could play for about 5 minutes, then POFF, it the lines came back and the game froze, etc.

What is Omega Drivers? Any links you can provide me with?

Once you started tp play a game your Video Card is starting to work a lot harder so it may be the card is faulty.

Which video card do you have? Perhaps the cooling is breaking down?
