AVG keeps telling me that I have a virus and do I want to heal it. It started at 76EXYM.g.exe and has now reached 90EXYM.g.exe. Can any of you Gurus tell me how to rid myself of this, please.
Thanks,
geotan.

I ran both programmes as instructed then downloaded HiJack this but I am unable to unzip it. WinZip tells me that I am missing a file. So I deleted WinZip [using Add?Remove programmes] and copied it over from my other computer but it still tells me that there is a file missing. Any suggestions?

Does the message say you are missing MSVBVM60.DLL ?
If so, you can get it from the link below.

The file that is says is missing is WINZIP.CHM which is actually there.
Out of frustration, I tried a System Restore. I had to eventually go back 2 months and now AVG is giving me no warnings of any threats, so I keeping my fingers crossed and in the meantime will try and sort the WinZip problem.
Thank you for your help.

Check Windows updates and all other program updates for missing updates because of the restore.

If you cannot get the WINZIP error sorted, you can download HijackThis.exe.

First create a permanent folder to house the program.
Click My Computer > C:\
In the menu bar, File > New > Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to HJT or HijackThis.

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php
Click the Download from DKnoppix link and save the file to your C:\HJT folder.

geotan,

I moved your HJT log to the appropriate forum.
Here, is the link:
geotan's HJT log

NOTE:
Please, DO NOT make another post in the HJT forum, until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The first thing they look for, when looking for logs to reply to, is 0 replies. If you make another post, there will be 1 reply. The team member, glancing over the replies, might think someone is already helping you out, and will not respond. So, just make your post, and let it sit there, until a team member responds. This way you will be taken care of, in the most timely manner.

Also, don't make any changes to your system, as that could change the results of the posted log, making it more difficult to properly clean your system.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me.
